Admitting Representative (PT, Variable) Monterey Park Hospital

About the role

Monterey Park Hospital, a 101‑acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking an Admitting Representative for the Admitting Department. This is a part‑time, 8‑hour variable shift position reporting to the Admitting Director.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients as they arrive.
• Register patients into the hospital’s ADT system.
• Verify and validate all patient information, including medical insurance.
• Deliver verified information to the appropriate service units.
• Perform these tasks in the ER Department, Outpatient, and direct admit transfer settings.
• Take PBX rotations as needed.

Requirements

• Obtain BLS (AHA) & AB508 certifications within 90 days of employment.
• Knowledge of the patient registration process.
• Knowledge of HMO’s, PPO, Capitation, Medi‑Cal, Medicare, Worker’s Comp., HIPAA & EMTALA.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years of experience preferred.

Skills

• Excellent Customer Service skills are necessary.
• Above‑average collection skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred.

Schedule

The position is part‑time with an 8‑hour variable shift that includes evenings, graveyard & weekends; days off will vary.
