About the role
The Admissions Specialist plays a crucial role in Odyssey House's mission to help individuals rebuild their lives through comprehensive treatment and support. This position involves providing effective and efficient advocacy services during the induction process, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and maintained, and participating in various outreach engagements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure potential inductions are serviced immediately in a professional and concerned manner.
- Make sure all documents are included in new charts prepared prior to transfer.
- Responsible for updating, securing, and accurately recording all documents in own active files.
- Submit reports as required.
- Counsel, screen, interview, and induct residents.
- Obtain medical and psychiatric clearances when necessary.
- Participate in outreach engagements.
- Develop files on new inductions.
- Care for coordination of individual inactive charts and closure.
- Follow up scheduled interviews/inductions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one year of experience in a TC and/or admissions field.
- Knowledge of CASAC/CASAC-T standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with case management software is a plus.
