About the role

The position is responsible for the efficient and responsible operation of the front office area. It is supervised by the Practice Clinic Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent consumer service by maintaining a warm and welcoming environment for all consumers, visitors, and staff and offering timely access to clinical staff for immediate needs.
  • Absorb and respect the integrity and confidentiality of all consumer-related information according to agency policy on confidentiality.
  • Follow safety and administrative procedures, including responding immediately to incoming calls and routing them to appropriate staff, handling money collected according to accounting procedures, and performing tasks such as closing and opening the front office as scheduled.
  • Maintain lists and supplies for the General Pershing location, prepare and distribute agency mail and deliveries, review and prepare consumer records for scheduling/service delivery, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma, with (1) years of experience in office management, consumer scheduling, commercial insurance (Medicare/Medicaid/private insurance), and various daily clerical operations preferred.
  • (1) year of experience in operating a similar telephone system and intermediate data entry skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software or equivalent, along with intermediate general computer skills.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs, move about facilities freely, sit for extended periods, have excellent speech and hearing for face-to-face and telephone communication, multitask, stay organized, maintain an organized work area, and follow through on assigned tasks.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to comprehend and interpret verbal and written instructions, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively communicate verbally with English-speaking patients.
  • Completion of NorthCare required training within 30 days of employment with NorthCare and a TB test within 12 months prior to employment with NorthCare.
