Admissions RN - Day Shift

About the Role

Glen Oaks Hospital is a 54-bed private mental health hospital in a relaxed setting in Greenville, Texas. Our comfortable, homelike atmosphere is conducive to healing for the adults and seniors we treat. The position is responsible for the timely processing of inquiry and referral calls, coordination of all admissions processes, and serving as a liaison to referral sources, families, payors, physicians, unit, and hospital personnel involved with each admission.

• Verify insurance and triage patients
• Complete assessments and staff clinical cases effectively
• Enter calls and admissions in the computer and complete all admission paperwork with the patient
• Effectively communicate with unit staff and assist patients to the unit
• Pre-certify with payor sources
• Follow hospital’s policies and procedures regarding admissions

Schedule

7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, three days per week, rotating weekends.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited RN program; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• 1-3 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care
• Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field
• Currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing
• CPR certification
• Successful completion of Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation, and CPR prior to assisting in restraining procedures
