Role Overview

The Afterhours Registered Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive hospice care outside regular hours, including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Triaging patient needs via phone until an in-person visit is possible
• Responding promptly to crisis calls from patients and families
• Performing initial nursing evaluations to determine hospice eligibility within 48 hours of referral
• Conducting afterhours visits, including admissions, death, recertification, and routine assessments
• Assessing and reassessing physical, psychosocial, emotional, and environmental needs of patients and families
• Documenting care plans, interventions, and patient responses
• Providing care in diverse home environments regardless of background

Qualifications & Skills

• Current unrestricted RN license in the practice state
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or public transit access
• Preferred: CPR certification and at least one year of clinical experience

Pay

Pay ranges from $70,832 to $106,248 annually.
