Admissions Recruiter
About the role
The Admissions Recruiter plays a crucial role in introducing SUNY Orange to prospective students through various outreach efforts and presentations. They are responsible for engaging diverse audiences and highlighting the college’s programs and services designed to support student success.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an active visitation schedule to reach out to potential students at Boys & Girls Clubs, Veterans Centers, OrangeWorks Employment Centers, and students transitioning from ESL and HSE programs.
- Conduct presentations in Spanish and English to varied audiences, emphasizing outreach to underrepresented groups.
- Introduce students to SUNY Orange’s programs and services that support academic success.
- Communicate the benefits of higher education and assist students in navigating the enrollment process.
- Travel to both SUNY Orange’s campuses in Newburgh and Middletown, as well as local high schools, as needed.
- Work evenings and weekends as part of the job responsibilities.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college.
- One (1) year of recruitment and/or customer service experience.
- Fluent in Spanish, both spoken and written.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
- Two or more years of higher education recruitment and/or student support experience.
- Familiarity with a student information system (i.e., Banner) and CRM software.
- Community College or higher education experience.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with various stakeholders.
- Effective under pressure, with a high level of accuracy, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
- Coordination of workflow while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Presentation of complex information and data in a coherent manner.
- Ability to travel between the College’s two campuses and other sites.
Additional Information
Salary: $47,763 - $63,287 per annum, commensurate with experience.
Position Type: Staff & Chair, 12 month, Grade 40 position.
