About the role

The Admissions Recruiter implements the admissions plan through recruiting strategies and event attendance both on and off site. This position supports admissions through student enrollment, academic advising, and other recruitment/enrollment objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Implement all aspects of the admissions recruitment, enrollment, and retention plan.
  • Make initial contacts to high schools and community organizations to generate interest in the College.
  • Conduct follow-up contacts with prospective students via phone calls, emails, text messages, and letters.
  • Maintain accurate records and track recruitment activities in admissions department databases.
  • Travel and attend events, including business visits, high school visits, college planning conferences, and the KACRAO annual admission conference (may occur outside regular working hours or on weekends).
  • Assist with planning and implementing campus visits and event days (may occur outside regular working hours or on weekends).
  • Recruit students according to standards set by KACRAO and the College.
  • Assist in developing a recruitment program for returning adult students, including outreach to business & industry, counselors, and GED completers.
  • Help develop recruiting materials such as brochures, handouts, and other printed materials.
  • Support other admissions representatives, faculty, coaches, and activity sponsors with recruiting efforts.
  • Update student demographic and academic information in the admissions database.
  • Serve as a liaison between assigned academic divisions and the Admissions Office.
  • Provide academic advising to new and returning students about College policies, programs of study, and degree options.
  • Inform students about alternatives and consequences of academic decisions.
  • Guide students on navigating student information systems (Cowley Connect, Blackboard, Cowley email).
  • Monitor student progress and follow up as directed.
  • Maintain accurate academic records in Jenzabar EX Systems.
  • Participate in active advising, assist with graduation and transfer information, and process degree applications.
  • Provide scholarship information and assist with application processes.
  • Serve as the primary referral point for all student questions.
  • Evaluate student degree plans and transcripts to ensure proper class enrollment.
  • Advise students on course transferability and continuing education opportunities.
  • Work at other remote centers as needed to assist understaffed locations.
  • Schedule and proctor tests for instructors and students from Cowley College and other institutions.
  • Serve as a contact for students regarding current programs and necessary information.
  • Refer students to appropriate areas (Student Services, Disability Services, IMPACT, etc.).
  • Maintain courteous, professional relationships with employees, vendors, and external representatives.
  • Comply with all College policies and procedures.
