Admissions Counselor - High Point University

About the role

The Admissions Counselor at High Point University is an integral member of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The counselor manages and strategically develops an assigned geographic territory to support the university’s enrollment goals, identifying, recruiting, admitting, and enrolling academically qualified students who align with the institution’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute a comprehensive recruitment plan for the assigned territory.
• Represent High Point University at on‑ and off‑campus events, high schools, college fairs, and other outreach initiatives.
• Maintain frequent and meaningful contact with prospective students, parents, and school counselors throughout the admissions process.
• Identify and recruit academically qualified students who fit the university’s mission and values.
• Guide prospective students and families through the admissions process with professionalism and empathy.
• Collaborate with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions team to achieve enrollment targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience level ranging from entry to senior level in admissions or related fields.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with prospective students, parents, and school counselors.
• Commitment to providing exceptional service and guidance throughout the admissions journey.
