About the role
The Admissions Counselor plays a key role in supporting the University’s recruitment and enrollment efforts by providing exceptional service to prospective students and their families.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and families within an assigned territory.
- Provide personalized counseling on admissions, scholarships, financial aid, and academic programs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors.
- Communicate regularly regarding student applicants and visit opportunities.
- Represent the University at high school visits, college fairs, community events, and other external engagements.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with prospective students and their families through email, phone, text, virtual, and in-person meetings.
- Maintain accurate and timely records using the University’s CRM system to ensure data integrity and effective communication.
- Monitor strategic goals for assigned territory, including applications, admits, and enrolled students.
- Coordinate and participate in on-campus recruitment events, such as Preview Days, Scholarship Competitions, and Info Sessions.
- Strategically plan and execute off-site travel and recruitment visits, managing time and productivity independently.
- Invite key influencers (e.g., school counselors) to visit campus or attend special events.
- Review and evaluate student applications, academic records, and transcripts using institutional guidelines.
- Use predictive modeling, historical data, and CRM insights to inform recruitment and outreach strategies.
- Assess prospective student needs and align them with University offerings and support services.
- Make recommendations on admissions decisions based on academic preparation and University policy.
Requirements/Minimum Qualifications

- Possess high energy, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to present the University in a positive and professional manner to individuals and groups on and off campus.
- Valid driver’s license required. Willingness and ability to travel regionally and work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience with Slate CRM systems and/or data-informed decision-making preferred.
