About the role
The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking an Admissions Counselor to join our team. UCCS is dedicated to academic excellence, research, and community engagement, offering a unique setting in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
Responsibilities
- Utilize data to plan and implement recruiting and outreach to prospective freshmen and transfer students, both in-person and virtually.
- Attend high school visits, college fairs, and other recruitment activities.
- Represent UCCS at community college appointments, individual appointments, information sessions, and family engagement events.
- Travel out-of-state as needed to recruit students.
- Support on-campus recruitment efforts by taking appointments, greeting visitors, and assisting with general inquiries via phone and email.
- Track applicant/admit/incomplete reports related to the territory and generate ideas to improve yield.
- Plan and execute events in the territory to convert admits to enrollment, such as admitted student dinners.
- Prepare professional presentations and communicate transfer advising information to prospective students and families.
- Counsel and guide students through admissions counseling conversations to support their success.
- Develop relationships with key contacts within the assigned territory and communicate through various methods including phone, email, in-person, text, and social media.
- Occasionally perform some night and evening work.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required.
- A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience in higher education setting working with students professionally or as a student assistant is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Colorado Community College System is preferred.
Qualifications
- A valid driver's license issued by a state within the United States is required.
Skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of CRM systems and data analysis tools.

Pay
$39,979 - $51,586 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full-time, tentatively starting July 1, 2026.
