Admissions Counselor

Duties/Responsibilities

• Manage a recruitment territory of incoming first-year students.
• Travel to recruitment territories as needed, approximately 10-15 weeks throughout the year.
• Communicate with incoming students, parents, and school counselors through multiple platforms, including a recruitment CRM.
• Attend high school visits, college fairs, and other off-campus recruitment activities on behalf of the university.
• Develop and cultivate relationships with prospective students at all points in the admissions funnel through telephone, email, texting, in-person, and written communication.
• Answer telephone, email, and other inquiries and provide information to students, their families, and school counselors.
• Follow up, track, and communicate with prospective students and assist them from prospect through enrollment.
• Develop and implement territory management plans for assigned geographic territory.
• Aid in the development and implementation of recruitment strategies for students from targeted areas.
• Represent the Office of Admissions at on-campus recruitment events, including preview days, open house events, admitted student events, and new student orientation.
• Plan and host recruitment events for prospective students, their parents, and school counselors.
• Utilize the recruitment CRM to manage student data and reports.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Recruitment or Director of Admissions.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 or more years of full-time verifiable work experience in a university or college setting OR 1-2 years as an active member of a student organization.
• Must have database management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
