Admissions Counselor

Responsibilities
- Reports to the OA/CTS director.
- Conducts direct recruitment activities, including public speaking; develops linkages with referral sources like human services agencies, recreation centers, youth organizations, and churches; participates in center tours; contacts potential enrollees to explore enrollment.
- Interviews interested candidates and gathers necessary information; ensures all required documents for eligibility are obtained, completed, and included in the applicant's folder.
- Arranges for the reception of accepted candidates; follows up on student progress, such as length of stay and separations.
- Prepares, schedules, and provides outreach presentations in the assigned area; supports regional outreach efforts with presentations.
- Maintains accountability logs of contacted organizations, individuals, referrals, and subsequent enrollments.
- Collaborates with centers regarding their input needs.
- Mets or exceeds monthly student admission goals.
- Refers youth to designated screening or other support agencies, as needed.
- Prepares necessary and required reports related to the recruitment effort.
- Aids in placement activities.
- Promotes career success standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students when necessary, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
- Supports, promotes, and enforces the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy.
- Maintains accountability of property; adheres to safety practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or a closely related field; or an associate’s degree and two years of related experience required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency also required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.

Pay
$27.11 per hour.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday - Friday.
