About the role
The Admissions Counselor plays a crucial role in the admissions team, responsible for developing, implementing, and achieving yearly recruitment plans in a specific region. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with student prospects and their families, managing strategic relationships with key constituents, and supervising a team of student admissions assistants.
Responsibilities
- Moving a segment of regional student prospects to matriculation
- Being accountable for measurable yields
- Necessary communication to achieve the college's overall recruitment goals
- Developing a yearly, region-specific recruiting plan
- Managing strategic working relationships with churches, high schools, and alumni
- Generating short and long-term assignments
- Supervising a team of student admissions assistants
- Fulfilling other duties as assigned

- Able to create a sphere of influence with a wide variety of student prospects
- Able to work as a member of a team with ownership of office and institution-wide goals
- Able to relate and work with students from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
- Must have the ability and desire to travel and represent Covenant College positively to a variety of constituencies in diverse settings

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- A working knowledge of Covenant College's philosophy of education, history, and academic and co-curricular programs
- Familiarity with the Presbyterian Church in America
- A working knowledge of Google applications and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), word-processing, and computer aptitude
