About the role
Our inpatient rehabilitation hospital is dedicated to providing exceptional and compassionate care to individuals with various medical conditions such as brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputations, and multiple traumas. As the Admissions Coordinator, you play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and patient referrals.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the Business Development Team by managing referral intake and patient admissions.
- Communicate closely with all departments to prepare for patient admissions.
- Oversee the pull-through process for the hospital under the direction of the Director of Business Development, providing support, customer service, and timely resolution of all aspects related to admissions.
- Ensure all deficiencies are eliminated to avoid holds, collaborating with CBO and HIM to resolve any errors.
- Timely and accurately enter referrals in Transitions of Care, process timely insurance verifications, and assist in the pre-certification/authorization process.
- Work with the DBD, CEO, and other leaders to ensure timely admissions from time of referral.
- Resolve occasional challenges and obstacles with the team.
- Provide appropriate documents to the Case Management team and enter patient data in HMS/MedHost.
- Complete admissions paperwork and review patient forms/demographics with patient/responsible party, securing signatures on necessary documents and scanning completed documents.
- Lead the morning meeting with census, budgeted numbers, and provide admissions details to the hospital.
- Manage LOA's in HMS/MedHost, ensuring accurate entries for all LOA patients.
- Complete forms as necessary for corrections and review and enter daily census via Select Portal by 11am EST.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Education: High School Graduate or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years' experience performing a broad range of duties in an Admissions or Pre-Admissions Department required.
- Preferred: Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, experience with Excel and databases, and previous experience within a physical rehabilitation setting.

Pay
$21 - $31 per hour based on years of relevant work experience.
Schedule
Full-time | On-Site | Tuesday - Saturday 9:30am - 6pm.
