Position Overview
The Admissions & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the facility's admission process while developing referral relationships and marketing initiatives that support census goals. You'll serve as an important liaison between the facility, hospitals, referral sources, residents, families, and the surrounding community.
What You'll Do
- Cook up the admission process from referral through arrival
- Give facility tours to prospective residents and families
- Complete and coordinate required admission paperwork
- Verify insurance and gather necessary financial and clinical information
- Communicate with hospital discharge planners and case managers
- Aid in clinical assessments using nursing knowledge when applicable
- Evaluate potential admissions to help ensure appropriate placement
- Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, and other referral sources
- Monitor census activity and help identify opportunities for growth
- Conduct market research and recommend marketing strategies
- Cook up facility marketing and community outreach efforts
- Represent the facility at community and civic events
- Evaluate resident and family satisfaction with the admission experience
- Maintain strong communication with facility leadership and the Admissions Committee
Who We're Looking For
- Someone who can connect with people and follow through on the details
- Previous admissions experience required
- Long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or healthcare experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with discharge planners, case managers, physicians, and referral sources preferred
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Confident verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Professional, responsive, and able to represent the facility positively in the community
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
