Admissions Coordinator
About the role
The Admissions Coordinator plays a crucial role in making the first impressions of Springfield Rehabilitation and HealthCare Center. This position involves blending emotional, financial, psychosocial, and medical aspects of an admission, requiring a solid understanding of the center's responsibilities and the interrelation between various departments.
Responsibilities
- Presenting the center to potential admissions in a professional manner
- Understanding and managing the medical case management process for geriatric patients
- Working with funding resources such as Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance
- Organizing and carrying out responsibilities efficiently and effectively
- Interacting with potential admissions in a hospital setting
- Multitasking to manage various responsibilities simultaneously
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or an RN or LPN in lieu of a degree
- Knowledge of the medical case management process, needs of geriatric patients, and health care settings
- Working knowledge of funding resources like Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance
- Imagination and creative ability, along with cooperative skills with other professionals
- Experience in insurance authorization
- Medical knowledge and terminology
- Marketing experience
- Ability to multitask and interact in person with potential admissions in a hospital setting
Qualifications
Prefer Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. An RN or LPN in lieu of a degree is acceptable. Must have knowledge of the medical case management process, needs of geriatric patients, health care settings, and working knowledge of funding resources such as Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
