Admissions Coordinator Responsibilities
- Obtains and reviews necessary medical/financial information in order to facilitate admissions process and to ensure continuum of care.
- Reviews required admission documentation with appropriate responsible party as per regulatory guidelines.
- Responsible for accuracy of assigned work.
- Reports problems involving assignments to Admissions Director or Administrator.
- Affords assistance in developing and managing a marketing plan to maintain census at budgeted levels.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines and managed insurances.
- Affords assistance in compiling and reporting monthly admission and discharge data.
- Maintains communication with hospital Social Workers, Case Managers, and Physicians.
- Communicates admissions to nursing departments.
- Marketing in the community.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Experience in healthcare administration or related field preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
