Position Summary
The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for managing the referral and admissions process, coordinating with hospitals, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth transitions into our facility. This role is essential in maintaining census growth while delivering a positive admissions experience.
Qualifications
- Previous admissions, healthcare marketing, or customer service experience preferred
- Skilled nursing, rehab, or long-term care experience strongly preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of insurance verification, Medicare/Medicaid, and managed care is a plus
- Able to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems
Key Responsibilities
- Cook up all aspects of resident admissions from referral to move-in
- Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, case managers, discharge planners, and community partners
- Conduct facility tours for prospective residents and families
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain necessary documentation
- Collaborate with clinical, business office, and nursing teams for seamless admissions
- Maintain accurate census and admissions records
- Aid with marketing and outreach efforts to support occupancy goals
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations
