Admissions Coordinator
About the role
The Admissions Coordinator plays a crucial role in making the first impression of Springfield Rehabilitation and HealthCare Center. This position involves blending emotional, financial, psychosocial, and medical aspects of an admission, requiring a solid understanding of the center's responsibilities and the interrelation between various departments.
Responsibilities
- Presenting the center to potential admissions in a professional manner
- Understanding and addressing the needs of geriatric patients
- Working with medical case management processes
- Managing insurance authorizations and coordinating with funding resources like Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance
- Organizing and carrying out responsibilities efficiently and effectively
- Interacting with potential admissions in a hospital setting
- Multitasking to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- An LPN or RN license in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of the medical case management process and needs of geriatric patients
- Experience in marketing and insurance authorization
- Ability to work cooperatively with other professionals
- Good organizational and multitasking skills
Qualifications
Preference is given to candidates with a Bachelor's degree, but an RN license will be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience in medical case management, geriatric care, and insurance authorization is preferred.
