About the role
The Admissions Assistant role is located at SUNY's Recruitment Response Center in Albany, NY. This position is full-time and part of the United University Professions Union.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a strong sense of familiarity with all educational programs at SUNY's 64 campuses to communicate educational offerings to prospective students, their families, as well as school counselors
- Represent SUNY at Enrollment Services events for prospective students and high school counselors across the state and northeast
- Participate in ongoing training to effectively counsel the public on The State University of New York's initiatives such as Reverse Transfer, Guided Pathways, and SmartTrack, as well as State-mandated initiatives such as the Excelsior Scholarship and New York State Dream Act
- Aid in the development and execution of targeted marketing campaigns
- Support prospective students and their families by providing information regarding SUNY's educational offerings via email, telephone, and face to face conversations
- Manage hundreds of daily inbound calls, emails, and chat communication to provide a high level of customer service
- Document all communication and recruitment efforts in SUNY's Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Analyze student's past education experience and provide counsel on how SUNY can help them meet their goals with a variety of credential options
- Provide technical support for SUNY's online application for admission, school counselor portal, and SUNY campus portal as well as serve as liaison between users and development team
- Participate in University-wide training to effectively utilize SUNY's CRM system, telephone system, chat software, and in-house developed web applications
- Beta test online application software releases and website tools
- Generate volume reports as requested by leadership to support the use of data for strategic enrollment planning
Requirements
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree, outstanding verbal and written communication skills, ability to work and manage a variety of tasks in a very busy and ambitious recruitment environment, ability to analyze the components of a problem and develop logical solutions, must be able to work as part of a team, as well as independently, must be willing to present at college fairs, evening, occasional weekend work and travel required, valid driver's license
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous call/contact center experience or related customer service experience, previous experience in higher education including college advising, college admissions, or recruitment, fluency in Spanish or Chinese

Pay
The salary for this position is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, training, and certifications. The range for this position is $50,000-$52,000 annually.
Schedule
The standard work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM; however, this position will primarily support extended hours, Monday-Thursday from 11:00 AM-7:00 PM, and Friday from 8:30 AM-4:30 PM.
