Job Duties
- Complete and maintain electronic student and prospective student files and/or deleting records as required; and maintain integrity of student data.
- Maintain current knowledge of federal and internal regulations such as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the Coordinating Board’s Texas Success Initiative.
- Evaluate admissions applications, received via ApplyTexas or paper format, for residency status and assign the appropriate residency classification for tuition purposes.
- Utilize Datatel Colleague, DMC’s student information system, daily to perform data entry to process admissions applications as well as incoming student transcripts, test scores to include the Texas Success Initiative, bacterial meningitis records and all miscellaneous documents needed to complete a student’s file for academic, early college, and special program type courses.
- Utilize Etrieve, DMC’s document imaging system, to index, review and maintain relevant documents in student records.
- Utilize Qless, DMC’s virtual check in system, to place students in line or to summon students waiting to be seen by an Admissions representative.
- Work day, evening and weekend hours as needed to support admissions and registration initiatives and special events throughout all College campuses and centers.
- Participate in various events, new student orientations, registration events to assist with collection and/or processing of Admissions documents.
- Maintain communications with prospective students’ admissions inquiries via email and other related electronic methods.
- Provide excellent customer service and assist students, prospective students, faculty, staff and community with Admissions inquiries in person, via telephone, and email support.
- Establish and maintain good public relations with faculty, staff, students, and the community at large.
- Work closely with various Student Services, IT and Early College Programs departments.
- Open and route mail. Assist with mailings. Stuff envelopes, mail/email schedules, receipts, and other information requested by students, faculty and staff.

- Knowledge of general office policies and procedures.
- Ability to operate general office equipment including document scanners, copiers, printers.
- Proficiency in computer-based data entry.
