About the Role
Adequately assess patients experiencing emotional distress to determine the appropriate level of care based on symptomatology. Interviewers must know admission criteria, local resources for non-admits, and demonstrate strong communication and patient engagement skills. Ability to utilize diagnostic criteria to assign a diagnostic impression and maintain clear, accurate written documentation using appropriate psychiatric terminology.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of admission and exclusionary criteria for adolescent, adult, and geriatric programs.
- Assess patients and coordinate psychiatric admission or referral to appropriate provider for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Make appropriate referrals when prospective patients do not meet inpatient criteria for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
- Apply knowledge of diagnostic criteria to provide a diagnostic impression for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Document all patient information, data, and interactions clearly and concisely.
- Complete all components of the admission process as appropriate.
- Maintain CPR certification and MOAB certification.

Qualifications
- Education: Registered Nurse, BS, or Master’s level.
- Prior inpatient hospital experience preferred or equivalent.
- Two years of work experience in a psychiatric-related setting.
