Admission Assessment Coord, PRN, Nights

About the Role

Adequately assess patients experiencing emotional distress to determine the appropriate level of care based on symptomatology. Interviewers must know admission criteria, local resources for non-admits, and demonstrate strong communication and patient engagement skills. Ability to utilize diagnostic criteria to assign a diagnostic impression and maintain clear, accurate written documentation using appropriate psychiatric terminology.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of admission and exclusionary criteria for adolescent, adult, and geriatric programs.
• Assess patients and coordinate psychiatric admission or referral to appropriate provider for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Make appropriate referrals when prospective patients do not meet inpatient criteria for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Apply knowledge of diagnostic criteria to provide a diagnostic impression for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Document all patient information, data, and interactions clearly and concisely.
• Complete all components of the admission process as appropriate.
• Maintain CPR certification and MOAB certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Registered Nurse, BS, or Master’s level.
• Prior inpatient hospital experience preferred or equivalent.
• Two years of work experience in a psychiatric-related setting.
