Administrator - Network Systems

Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains various Web servers.
• Provides networking assistance to users, including help with network connections and passwords.
• Aids in linking Web servers to database systems.
• Utilizes various Web-based scripting languages to create online forms that link users to databases.
• Manages all upgrades and backups.
• Researches and implements security and firewall strategies.
• Develops network, news, and host security policies.
• Manages remote client dial-in access.
• Maintains network traffic and makes necessary recommendations for additional resources or hardware.
• Manages setup and maintenance of intranets related to system administration functions.
• Mets with engineering groups to allocate server resources and install new servers.
• Maintains both wireless and land-based phone systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Solves practical problems and deals with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Reads, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Writes reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Effectively presents information and responds to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
