Main Purpose of Job

The Senior Hazard Mitigation Project Officer is responsible for managing and implementing hazard mitigation projects within the Maryland Department of Emergency Management. Duties include overseeing project budgets, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with federal guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
  • Six years of administrative staff or professional work.
  • Candidates may substitute education and experience as noted in notes.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of grant/project management experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience in local, state, and/or federal-level stakeholder coordination, collaboration, and policy review.
  • FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs grant administration experience.

Licenses, Registrations and Certifications

No specific licenses, registrations, or certifications are required for this position.
