About the Role
Venture Global LNG is seeking a Contracts Administrator with experience and knowledge in contract management and execution of agreements. This individual will administer variation management, claims, reporting, acceptance, and closeout processes for complex contracts associated with EPC, Construction, and Construction Management types for the company’s LNG projects. The role involves participating in a multi-disciplinary team providing contracts oversight, implementation, and support, and assisting other departments as needed. The position is located in Houston, TX, and reports to the Project Leader.
Responsibilities
- Administer variation management as part of the Project Teams.
- Manage all phases of change order requests, including scope, price, and schedule definition, drafting contractual amendments, review with subject matter experts and legal counsel, negotiation with contractors, and execution of approved changes following company guidelines.
- Support Project Teams on claims related to defects, serial defects, warranty, and acceptance, including drafting official project notifications, coordinating with technical and commercial experts, and obtaining legal and upper management signoffs.
- Monitor, review, and coordinate responses for incoming official notices from strategic contractors.
- Ensure contracts meet all criteria for partial and final acceptance/completion by developing internal checklists and facilitating approvals from upper management.
- Coordinate countersignature for all completion certificates issued by strategic contractors.
- Develop and maintain strategic contract documentation repositories.
- Lead updates in the Company’s Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system and obtain required approvals in coordination with the Sourcing and Procurement department.
- Track and update all activities and progress in designated logs.
- Review, track, report, and coordinate requests related to proof of insurance for strategic contracts.
- Track and report all Performance Security (LOC & Bonds).
- Attend variation management meetings, both internal and external, as required.
- Manage all deliverables under the contracts from both the Company and Contractor sides.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience with contracts/subcontracts.
- Knowledge of contract agreements, legal and commercial requirements, invoicing, and change order processes.
- Ability to effectively communicate across various disciplines and with contract counterparties.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and risks and escalate when appropriate.
- Strong writing skills, including drafting contractual documents.
- Ability to prioritize and meet critical deadlines.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage commercially sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Skills
- Experience with systems such as COUPA, DocuSign, Adobe, and MS Suite (Office, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) is preferred.
