About the role

Prisma Health seeks an experienced nurse leader for the Upstate Behavioral Health Hospital. The scope includes hospital and all facility-based programs.

Responsibilities

  • Translates strategic, financial and operating targets into facility, service line and departmental business plans within the context of the system's strategic plan.
  • Facilitates the identification, development and implementation of new programs and services.
  • Directs development of nursing and designated clinical ancillary services, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards.
  • Maintains and strengthens relationships with medical staff and other specialty services to develop systems to foster cost effective delivery of high-quality care, patient satisfaction, and employee satisfaction.
  • Collaborates with medical staff and Prisma Health leadership to identify and implement performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with other leadership staff and works with system-wide teams to optimize the efficiency, convenience, sharing of resources and utilization of Prisma Health facilities and services.
  • Establishes an efficient organizational structure and culture which promotes timely decision making and problem resolution at the lowest reasonable level of the organization.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the communities Prisma Health serves through appropriate community involvement such as participation in local service organizations and the effective use of advisory committees.
  • Collaborates with marketing staff in the development of customized marketing plans to foster growth and system development.
  • Collaborates with corporate services departments to maintain integrity of Prisma Health.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable state, federal, joint commission, and other regulatory agency requirements.
  • Prepares presentations, reports, and other information for the executive team as requested.
  • Establish relationships with other nurse leaders in an effort to maximize clinical and operational performance.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through formal education, seminar, workshops, in-services, current literature, and professional affiliations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Serves as a supervisor and manager, responsible for the final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility, and disciplinary authority.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
  • Master’s Degree or higher in related field of study.
  • Healthcare or Business preferred.
  • Five (5) years in nursing coordinating the planning, directing, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Five (5) years in a healthcare leadership role.
  • Academic medical center or health system experience with direct oversight of Behavioral Health clinical and operational functions preferred.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse in state in which work is performed.
