About the role

The Administrator is responsible for the overall daily management and operation of the clinic, reporting directly to first-line regional operational management (e.g., Area Director, Regional Director, or Vice President of Operations).

Responsibilities

  • Growth
    • Develop and implement processes for program growth in accordance with Company goals.
    • Plan and coordinate patient scheduling to ensure timely acceptance of patients and effective staffing levels.
    • Implement clinical and operational processes to improve patient health and minimize hospitalizations and missed treatments.
    • Achieve financial targets, including budget, labor costs, supply costs, and expenditures.
  • Outcomes
    • Review all incident reports; make recommendations and take action as appropriate; report at monthly QAPI meeting.
    • Promote the quality management program through education and involvement of staff and patients to achieve corporate quality goals.
    • Lead QAPI meetings and quality improvement committees.
    • Coordinate functions of all departments and develop standards for measuring patient care services, including maintaining chronological records as required by the ESRD Network Coordinating Council and Medicare.
    • Work with staff to maintain thorough and appropriate documentation in patient records.
    • Achieve program’s target goals for patient outcomes in accordance with quality patient care and Company goals.
  • Operational Readiness
    • Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including healthcare professionals' practice act requirements.
    • Ensure clinic compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and maintain continuing certification from statutory and regulatory agencies.
    • Develop, implement, and follow up on Corrective Action Plans for internal and external surveys.
    • May assume Charge Nurse’s responsibilities as needed, including duties listed in the Registered Supervising Nurse job description and nursing services policy.
    • May fulfill responsibilities of facility CEO as delegated by the Governing Body.
    • Conduct and participate in formal and informal meetings with the governing body, Regional Director, Medical Director, and staff.
    • Ensure appropriate staff meetings, in-service education, and team patient care planning meetings are held monthly.
    • Maintain a current Quality Assessment & Performance Improvement Program.
    • Establish, maintain, and submit all required records and reports concerning staff, patients, and operational affairs.
    • Plan, coordinate, and approve effective and efficient staffing to meet patient needs and regulations.
    • Oversee maintenance of equipment and supplies to meet current laws and regulations.
    • Continuously monitor to ensure a safe and sanitary physical environment, proper equipment function, and adequate inventory levels.
    • Supervise maintenance of equipment, building areas, and other property belonging to the center.
    • Understand the water treatment and mechanisms of facility equipment.
    • Assist with disinfection of equipment and supplies, including bicarbonate delivery systems and dialysis machines when necessary.
  • Partnerships
    • Monitor all contractual agreements and update as needed with corporate oversight.
    • Maintain a collaborative working relationship with the Medical Director and physicians.
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships with area hospitals, agencies, vendors, and the community.
    • Actively promote GUEST customer service standards and develop effective relationships at all organizational levels.
    • Respond effectively to inquiries or complaints.
  • Staff Development/Retention
    • Ensure all staff meet required qualifications and perform duties within established limitations.
    • Recruit, train, develop, and supervise all personnel.
    • Maintain effective personnel management and employee relations, including performance evaluations and discipline.
    • Uphold management goals by leading staff in team concepts and promoting teamwork.
    • Communicate expectations effectively and hold staff accountable for performance.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to function in a leadership position and perform in new and emergent situations with sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • 1 year of previous dialysis management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the English language and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); proficiency in all USRC clinical applications required within 90 days of hire.
  • Must meet applicable, specific state requirements.
  • If the following nursing requirements are not met, an individual may still be placed in the Administrator role but must designate a Registered Supervising Nurse who meets these qualifications:
    • Must be a full-time employee of the Company and available to clinic staff during clinic hours.
    • Current RN license in the applicable state; license must be maintained as current and in good standing.
    • 18 months as an RN with 6 months of experience in nursing care of patients with kidney failure.
    • CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
    • Confirmation of ability to distinguish all primary colors.
    • Must meet any practice requirement(s) for the applicable state.
