Responsibilities

  • Prepare pre-closing Loan Quality Initiative requirements, credit analysis, and quality control of loan information.
  • Provide accurate closing and funding of mortgage loans.
  • Review title commitments, appraisals, flood and homeowners insurance policies, condo questionnaires, assets, and credit.
  • Meet deadlines and assist with production goals.
  • Represent the Mortgage Department in various Credit Union days, seminars, and other special projects as directed by management.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all account and related information in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Meets qualifications to obtain NMLS certification.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous banking or Credit Union experience, previous mortgage experience in loan processing, loan origination, or financial services, knowledge of FNMA, NCUA, and AAFCU Mortgage Lending Guidelines, experience in Residential Mortgage Closing and Funding, working knowledge of PC software, including Desktop Underwriting, Mortgage LOS applications, and Episys.

About the role

The Administrator, AACU Mortgage Processing is responsible for processing mortgage loan applications for the purchase or refinance of non-commercial real estate by members of the American Airlines Federal Credit Union. This is a 90-day contract position with the potential to extend or convert. The role is 100% onsite, and the interview process includes two rounds: a phone screen and an onsite interview (if needed).

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe software (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple files, and function as part of a team.
  • Above-average interpersonal and communication skills, including professional telephone manners.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and high-volume pressure.
  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn, adapt to change, self-motivate, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain satisfactory performance and attendance.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and adjust schedule as needed.
  • Ability to pass applicable American Airlines and Credit Union pre-hire compliance checks.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18 - $20/Hr. The specific compensation will be determined based on the scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
