Administrative Underwriter

Role and Responsibilities

  • Verify and enforce all company and state rules and regulations that pertain to processing and finalizing life and annuity products.
  • Determine the accuracy of the client record and policy record, and process requests for additional information needed to update these records for all new life and annuity applications.
  • Evaluate non-medical applications.
  • Complete the issue process on all applications.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and three years of comparable work experience (i.e. business or customer service related)
  • OR five years of customer related experience (a combination of college education and work experience totaling five years)
  • Basic knowledge of new business/underwriting operations preferred
  • Basic knowledge of SFB products preferred
  • Basic typing skills (25 wpm)
  • Basic use of Microsoft Word
  • Ability to use sound reasoning and judgment to make quick decisions
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Good multi-tasking abilities
  • Good analytical skills with attention to detail
