About the role
This position aids the Trauma Program Director and Trauma Medical Director in the implementation of various operational functions, including program assessments, planning, organizing, implementation, budgeting, performance improvement, education, and marketing communications.
You will coordinate and assist in validating the collection and presentation of data required to maintain trauma center verification. The role requires knowledge, technical expertise, skills, and competencies to perform data collection, reports/presentations, maintenance of trauma billing, and administrative coordination of trauma educational programs such as Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Rural Trauma Team Development Course (RTTDC).
You will perform administrative duties and communication with national organizations involving trauma education, including the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), and serve as a resource for the Trauma Registrars and data report/validation requests for the TPD and/or FWD of Trauma Services.
You will ensure trauma data downloads are completed in a timely manner for County, State, and National governing bodies, such as Clark County, State of Nevada, ACS, National Trauma Data Base (NTDB), and Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP).
You will ensure the Trauma program has the necessary supplies, resources, and information for the success of team members, including the Trauma Program Director, Trauma Medical Director(s), Trauma PI RN(s), Trauma Clinical Educator(s), Trauma Nurse Practitioner(s), Trauma Surgeons, Trauma Surgery Residents, Trauma Registrars, Injury Prevention Coordinator(s), and Trauma Resus RN(s).
The role encompasses assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating program needs, overseeing the orientation of new team members, and supporting the Trauma Program to maintain trauma center verification.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (required, from an accredited institution)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or Business (preferred)
- Administrative ATLS Course Coordinator certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire (required)
- Administrative TNCC Course Coordinator experience (preferred)
- Strong skills in spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and other technical and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work diplomatically with internal and external customers/colleagues
