Responsibilities
- Reviews staffing each shift for each unit.
- Affords assistance to the charge nurse to ensure adequate staffing when there is a problem.
- Makes rounds and provides managerial presence.
- Affords assistance to new personnel and serves as a resource to the nursing staff.
- Affords assistance with procedures when staff has difficulty.
- Affords advocacy to locate resources such as supplies as needed.
- Listens to staff problems and effectively resolves conflict as necessary.
- Responds to safety codes when necessary.
- Provides information to nurse managers regarding quality and employee problems.
- Resolves patient/family complaints when necessary.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Completes required education assignments annually.
- Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
- Minimum Experience: Three (3) years of clinical experience and experience in the teaching of nursing is desired.
- Licensure Requirement: Current Tennessee RN license.
- CPR required.
