UCLA’s Office of Civil Rights is dedicated to promoting a campus environment where all students, staff, faculty, and administrators can learn, work, and thrive free from discrimination and harassment. The office ensures compliance with Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and related state and university policies. It responds to reports of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation based on protected characteristics, provides supportive measures, explains reporting options, and oversees fair complaint-resolution processes. The office also leads prevention and education efforts through training, workshops, and resources to strengthen UCLA’s culture of respect, safety, and accountability.

About the role

Join UCLA's Civil Rights Office as an Administrative Analyst and play a vital role in advancing a campus culture built on equity, inclusion, and accountability. You will provide critical operational and administrative support that enables the office to address civil rights, discrimination prevention, and compliance with federal and state laws and university policies. In this dynamic role, you will coordinate projects, analyze and improve business processes, manage complex administrative functions, and collaborate across the university to support initiatives that impact the UCLA community.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare business correspondence, presentations, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Work independently, follow through on projects with minimal direction, and make independent judgments and decisions.
  • Apply knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, accounting principles, and resource management.
  • Analyze complex information and develop practical recommendations.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, including planning, coordination, scheduling, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Handle highly confidential material with tact and sensitivity.
  • Prepare reports, policies, procedures, executive summaries, and professional correspondence.
  • Multitask, set priorities, and adjust quickly to changing circumstances.
  • Employ good listening skills, tact, and diplomacy when interacting with emotionally upset staff or visitors.
  • Establish and realign competing priorities to meet reporting and financial deadlines under time constraints.
  • Communicate orally to obtain and present information clearly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • 5+ years of experience demonstrating proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Pay

UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, and certifications, among other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common.
