About the role
Community Health Alliance is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Administrative Specialist to join our behavioral health team. As the first point of contact for many of our clients, you will play an essential role in creating a welcoming experience while supporting the daily operations of our outpatient and community-based programs.
Responsibilities
- Welcome clients, visitors, and community partners while providing exceptional customer service in a professional and compassionate environment.
- Answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, manage calendars, and assist clients with accessing behavioral health services.
- Complete patient registration, verify demographic information, and support the intake and admissions process.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records, patient accounts, and administrative documentation in a timely manner.
- Manage waitlists, coordinate appointment scheduling, and communicate with clients regarding upcoming services.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient office operations and a positive client experience.
- Maintain office supplies, reception areas, and administrative records to support daily program operations.
- Assist with reports, data tracking, special projects, and other administrative functions as assigned.
- Protect client confidentiality while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and organizational policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one year of experience in an administrative, medical office, healthcare, or customer service environment.
- Valid Ohio driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic record systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a behavioral health, medical, or human services setting.
- Experience with patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, or electronic health records.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, customer-focused service while working in a fast-paced environment.
