Hiring Agency General Government Cabinet | Registry of Election Finance Location 140 Walnut St Frankfort, KY 40601 USA Description The Kentucky Registry of Election Finance is an independent agency of state government, established by the Legislature to ensure fair elections by way of oversight of campaign finances. The Registry has jurisdiction over campaign finance laws for all candidates and political committees and is responsible for providing daily guidance to those individuals and entities. The agency also provides training seminars concerning campaign finance, receives copies of filing papers from County Clerks and the Secretary of State, serves as the repository for all required reports, and verifies that all receipts and expenditures comply with campaign finance statutes. The Administrative Specialist will be a skilled member of the Registry’s staff who will provide professional support to the Executive Director in the review, evaluation, and implementation of Registry activities; and perform other duties as required. Duties And Responsibilities For The Administrative Specialist Reviews candidate electronic registrations, election finance statements, and other data to ensure compliance with campaign finance laws, including the initial approval of candidate initiating documents. Prepares correspondence to candidates for compliance with campaign finance laws, and performs reviews of candidate reports. Provides training and assistance in classroom setting and in informal setting; guides public and candidates to available website resources and otherwise provides necessary guidance and support in response to information requests. Interprets KRS Chapter 121 and administrative regulations, and agency policy, for candidates and the public. Provides information and documentation regarding election forms to Office of General Counsel that forms basis for delinquency actions or other administrative action. Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Good problem solving, technical, and analytical abilities Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Strong communication skills both verbal and written Self-motivated Minimum Requirements EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of professional, administrative, or business experience. Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
