About the role

As an Administrative Specialist, you will perform entry-level to routine (journey-level) administrative support work, providing essential assistance to the assigned department and other personnel. Your role is vital in preparing and distributing information concerning city programs and services to City Council, City Manager, Department Heads, and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and tabulate data, check documents for accuracy, transport documents, and maintain files.
  • Prepare, edit, and distribute correspondence, reports, and forms.
  • Manage and maintain schedules and travel arrangements for managers and directors.
  • Assist with general office duties such as filing, answering and routing phone calls, routing mail, and ordering/maintaining office supplies.
  • Provide assistance and support to other divisions within the department as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalency (required).
  • Community college, vocational, business, technical, or correspondence school certificates (preferred).
  • One (1) year of experience in administrative, budgetary, and clerical functions (required).
  • Two (2) years of experience in related fields (preferred).
  • Current valid Class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety (required).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) (preferred).

Pay

$15.05 per hour.
