Administrative Specialist -Ambulatory Operations

This job family coordinates, integrates, and administers a range of diverse administrative or staff functions. Roles in this group manage daily operations and administrative functions of university departments, including office management, scheduling, and coordination of activities across departments. UVA Administrative staff support strategic goals and ensure smooth university operations by providing administrative services to schools, units, or leadership.

Responsibilities

• Preparing documents of varying complexity
• Managing the collection, recording, sorting, and filing of data/information
• Preparing reports
• Making travel arrangements
• Arranging appointments and meetings
• Responding to inquiries
• Providing assistance and training to lower-level employees
• Analyzing non-routine problems and developing solutions
• Explaining practices, procedures, and policies to reach agreement with others outside the job area

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1+ year of relevant experience required

Skills

• Works under limited supervision for routine situations
• Makes minor adjustments to working methods and independently develops solutions to problems
• Primarily sedentary role involving extensive use of desktop computers
• Occasional travel to attend meetings and programs

Pay

The pay range for this role is $19.49 - $31.99 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
