About the role
The Department of Justice and the United States Attorneys' Offices provide a variety of administrative management analysis and direct support services to the Eastern District of Texas.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analytical studies of multifaceted administrative issues and problems to provide recommendations to enhance productive operations, and maximize resources.
- Conduct in-depth coordinated studies and analysis of all office support functions and their interrelationships to evaluate their effectiveness.
- Maintain property records, oversee property inventory and dispose of excess property.
- Project and analyze space and office furnishing needs based on proposed initiatives, staff changes and technology improvements.
- Serve as action officer for senior staff in administering a wide variety of administrative support activities, e.g., office moves, reorganizations, and communication system changes.
- Make purchases and enter into contracts within delegated monetary authorization with governing regulations and guidelines, via formal acquisition procedures or via government purchase card.
- Support services in relation to space management, purchasing supplies and equipment, office security, internal controls, health and safety.
- Prepare a variety of reports.
Qualifications
- To be qualified at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service.
- Specialized experience is defined as performing analysis on management issues; identifying issues in need of study; developing analytical methods and the preparation of reports and/or impact statements of findings, as required; recommending reallocation of resources or increase automation; analyzing and evaluating current work methods and procedures; utilizing manpower, use of equipment and management controls to develop long and short term goals, providing assistance to senior officials, providing a variety of support services to an organization which include space management, purchasing supplies and equipment; requesting proposals and reviewing bids for supplies and equipment; responsible for property security and inventory.
- Overseeing building renovation; mail services and reproduction services, developing inventory programs for an organization and/or managing a procurement program for an organization.
