About the role
The Borough of Madison is accepting applications for a full-time Administrative Officer/Registrar of Vital Statistics. Responsibilities include serving as the Registrar of Vital Statistics, providing clerical support for the Health Department and Secretary of the Board of Health, issuing and keeping records of births, marriages, deaths, and communicable diseases in the municipality.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Registrar of Vital Statistics
- Provide clerical support for the Health Department and Secretary of the Board of Health
- Issue and maintain records of births, marriages, deaths, and communicable diseases
- Review applications, issue permits and licenses
- Collect fees and make deposits
- Perform clerical work for the Health Officer or designee and Health Department staff
Requirements
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in technical, administrative work
- Certified Municipal Registrar certificate issued by the Department of Health and Senior Services
- Valid NJ Driver’s License
- High School diploma or GED (Associates degree or higher preferred)
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and be a self-starter who works independently.

Pay
Salary range of $60,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience.
