About the role

The Administrative Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day administrative activities in the orthodontic department, which includes performing office management duties, handling all operations such as billing, budget and financial activities; program related tasks for residents and Clinical Director; faculty actions in conjunction with the Dean's Office and IT issues.

Responsibilities

  • Administer all academic and related departmental activities by: handling matters related to admissions, orientation, course registrations, grading, exam, graduation;
  • Cooking up the training schedules for all orthodontic residents at all levels of advanced training and the teaching schedule of all faculty;
  • Cooking up departmental functions in conjunction with GSDM staff;
  • Cooking up meetings across departments including lecture series, academic meetings, workshops, special events;
  • Conducting periodic residents and faculty evaluations;
  • Working collaboratively with faculty and students in support of their teaching and research efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required and 3-5 years' work experience in a similar role.
  • Prior academic experience is highly desired but not preferred.
  • Must have strong organizational and prioritization skills and be able to multi-task.
  • Must have strong written and communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable working with technology including software such as MS Office, Word, Excel, power point.

Skills

  • Must be able to demonstrate strong critical thinking skills to assess and problem solve and provide recommended solutions.
  • Must be able to manage departmental budget by: conferring with the Chair, faculty and to determine financial needs; developing fiscal budget; preparing reports.
