Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington. Reporting Structure
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Radiation Oncology, the Radiation Oncology Administrative Manager will manage faculty appointment and promotion processes and coordinate projects for the division, managing internal and external collaborations across departments and workgroups to ensure project milestones and deliverables are met in an efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage operational and programmatic activities associated with the Radiology Oncology Division
- Organize meetings including scheduling, conference room booking, catering, agendas, and minutes
- Organize scientific seminars for external speakers including travel arrangements and expense reimbursements
- Organize special events
- Serve as Radiation Oncology Division’s liaison to the Office of Faculty Affairs
- Manage faculty Appointment and Promotion (A&P) process for the Radiation Oncology Division
- Maintain division’s faculty and professional scientific staff electronic files and database
- Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and policy guidelines for the Division’s Appointments and Promotions functions, including faculty recruitment, onboarding, professional scientific staff appointments, promotions, and faculty reviews
- Serve as a subject matter expert on division A&P policies and procedures, providing guidance and support to faculty and staff within the division
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to coordinate A&P activities and maintain effective communication to ensure that required processes and timelines are followed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and three years of administrative management or relevant experience OR equivalent education/experience
- Masters degree in health administration preferred
- Five years of administrative management or relavant experience in a healthcare, research or academic setting preferred
- Demonstrated experience with project management, tracking tools, process improvement strategies
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, contributing to the execution of multiple projects without independent ownership
- Strong technical and organizational skills, and ability to multitask, anticipating departmental needs and direction
- Experience with budgeting projects and business operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced meeting organizational, planning, and facilitation skills
- Highly effective team player and excellent communicator with an ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders, scientists, and executives with diverse information needs and communications preferences
- Strong computer skills and experience with the Microsoft Office suite
Additional Information
The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,172 to $114,940, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. This position may be eligible for relocation assistance. Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
