Administrative Engineer (NM)

About the role

Manage the full life cycle of bridges, tunnels, and retaining walls, ensuring safety and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field visits to identify structural deficiencies.
• Perform structural analysis and prepare design plans.
• Create sketches for repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain repair request records and coordinate with DOT units and contractors.
• Ensure repairs meet relevant codes and standards.
• Review preliminary design drawings for maintainability.
• Supervise subordinate staff.
• Communicate with external agencies.
• Prepare official documents, provide affidavits, and offer court testimony.
• Sign and seal engineering documents.

Requirements

• At least four years of civil engineering experience.
• Preference for experience in bridge design, construction, maintenance, or inspections.
• Valid NYS Professional Engineer license.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, nights, or weekends if needed.

Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Ability to drive city vehicles.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
