About the Role

The Hospital Administrative Director of Graduate Medical Education (ADME) is responsible for assisting and guiding initiatives as directed by the Designated Institutional Official (DIO) to establish Sierra Medical Center as an ACGME-accredited sponsoring institution and open new ACGME-accredited residency/fellowship programs. The ADME will assist and advise the DIO in preparing the ACGME sponsoring institution application and site visit, as well as supporting each Program Director in preparing their ACGME specialty program application and site visit.

The ADME provides leadership to direct administrative operations and maintain oversight and daily management of all graduate and undergraduate medical education programs. As the supervisor for GME and UME program managers/coordinators, active leadership and effective communication are essential to the success of each program manager/coordinator and program. Responsibilities include performance appraisals, discipline, scheduling, and other supervisory duties. The ADME will also lead initiatives as directed by the DIO and make formal recommendations for improvement to support accreditation requirements for both the institution and its programs.

Responsibilities

  • Update ACGME ADS, review prepared responses with the DIO, and ensure electronic approval and submission by the DIO before the ACGME due date.
  • Prepare draft copy of the Annual Institutional Review (A.I.R.) and submit it to the DIO for review by October 1st each year; ensure the DIO prepares the A.I.R. Executive Summary.
  • Present the A.I.R./Executive Summary to the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC) members in October/November for vote of approval.
  • Present the A.I.R./Executive Summary to the Hospital Board of Governors (BOG) at their December/January meeting.
  • Collect and file the letter from the Hospital BOG indicating receipt and approval of the A.I.R./Executive Summary.
  • Prepare and update annual resident agreements and submit them to the Corporate Sr. Contracts Specialist for legal review and approval.
  • Prepare and update faculty agreements for DIO review and submit them for C-Suite and Corporate approval.
  • Assist the DIO to ensure a smooth transition for Program Directors (PDs), Associate Program Directors (APDs), and Core Faculty into employment by HCA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in education, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of equivalent experience in a Graduate Medical Education administrative management and leadership role may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Graduate Medical Education (GME), including GME program coordination or high-level administrative support for a department of graduate medical education assisting the DIO.
  • Medical Education certification (C-TAGME) preferred.
