Administrative Director, Hematology Oncology

Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Administrative Director for Hematology/Oncology in Jacksonville, FL. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for Hematologic and Oncologic services in Central Florida, ensuring high-quality, equitable care aligned with Nemours’ mission.

About the role

The Administrative Director oversees the management of service delivery, compliance, innovation, integration, and consistency of services across inpatient, ambulatory, and infusion services. Responsibilities include:

• Establishing and managing a cohesive administrative and operational infrastructure for the cross-disciplinary service line, including physician practice and hospital operations.
• Developing and implementing business plans to support growth and financial success of the service line.
• Identifying opportunities to improve patient and family service experiences, ensuring safety for both patients and associates.
• Representing administration and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
• Partnering with medical staff, executive leadership, and other teams to drive service development and growth of the Central Florida Hematology/Oncology service line.

Leadership, Strategy, and Planning

• Leads the development and implementation of sustainable business and organizational models, aligning service line units, clinical disciplines, and providers to advance strategic programmatic development.
• Collaborates with executive and clinical leadership, marketing, and business development teams to identify and implement new and enhanced clinical programs.
• Develops service line outreach strategic plans and links them to operational and capital budgeting processes.
• Establishes marketing and promotional programs to enhance awareness and preference for clinical services.
• Oversees staffing models, recruitment, retention, performance management, and professional development.
• Drives innovation and supports academic endeavors to elevate the Nemours brand and patient experience.
• Develops strategic goals, annual objectives, and performance improvement plans aligned with organizational priorities.
• Establishes administrative infrastructure to support cancer research initiatives across Central Florida and the Nemours enterprise.

Operations and Financial Management

• Provides administrative and operational oversight of all people, programs, and sites within the service line in collaboration with clinical leaders.
• Develops, monitors, and meets operational and capital budget financial goals.
• Recommends resources, including qualified personnel and space, to support service delivery and planned growth.
• Develops, interprets, and implements policies and procedures to guide service provision.
• Collaborates with physician and nurse leaders to deliver quality, family-centered care cost-effectively.
• Monitors clinical operations, quality improvement initiatives, and revenue cycle processes for efficiency.
• Identifies and leads opportunities for operational efficiency and innovation based on data and market trends.
• Builds a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive management team through coaching and succession planning.
• Supports integration of research and academic programs with clinical operations.

Requirements

• Master’s degree required; MHA or MBA preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in hospital or healthcare.
• Preference for candidates with demonstrated success in a large, high-growth pediatric healthcare system.
• Strong background in clinical operations, team development, and strategic program expansion within complex, multidisciplinary environments.
