This role combines leadership in Therapeutic and Cellular Solutions (TCS) with Regional Medical Director responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity to drive medical strategy, expand cellular services, and provide medical consultation in transfusion medicine.

This is a remote role, requiring occasional onsite presence and travel to meet business needs. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Therapeutic and Cellular Solutions (TCS) Medical Director (50%):
    • Lead the medical strategy and operations of regulated cellular therapies, ensuring compliance with policies on cell collection, storage, and infusion.
    • Collaborate with executive leadership to broaden collection operations and enhance the production of specialized cellular products.
    • Drive the expansion of cellular services through outreach, partnerships, and support for program development.
    • Represent TCS on various committees, acting as the primary medical liaison for biotech partnerships.
    • Provide medical oversight in transferring protocols from research to clinical-grade production and address donor/recipient concerns.
  • Regional Medical Director Responsibilities (50%):
    • Offer medical consultation in transfusion medicine, building strong relationships with hospital clients.
    • Oversee medical operations in regulated blood centers, including donor management and response to adverse reactions.
    • Serve as CLIA laboratory director for immunohematology reference laboratories, as applicable.
    • Develop policies and procedures related to donor eligibility and transfusion practices.
    • Conduct continuing education programs to promote the safe use of blood components.

Requirements

  • MD/DO with Board Certification in Transfusion Medicine or Hematology/Oncology.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience with Cell Therapy and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation is preferred.
  • Experience with FACT accreditation processes and AABB Standards for cellular therapy is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations related to human cells and tissues.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability in program development and compliance with cellular therapy regulations.

Skills

  • Fellowship training or significant experience in Stem Cell and Cellular Therapy.
  • Proven track record of expanding clinical programs and driving innovative practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills for engaging with various stakeholders.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $200,000-$250,000, based on relevant experience and geographic location.
