Responsibilities

• Direct long- and short-term planning activities for the service line in collaboration with senior leadership, service line directors, managers, physicians, and community contacts.
• Serve as a catalyst between hospital departments, physicians, and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service while expanding and improving the service line.
• Plan and direct the development of the service line across the continuum of clinical functions to align with the organization’s strategic growth objectives.
• Develop and implement long- and short-term goals consistent with organizational needs by coordinating activities with operational caregivers, physicians, and key personnel.
• Ensure successful implementation of organizational change through effective resource utilization, project management, and change strategies.
• Collaborate with staff to create a motivating environment that supports shared governance, patient-driven care, continuous quality improvement, and professional practice.
• Develop growth and expansion strategies considering financial investment/return, staffing, facility, finance, and legal implications; address cross-functional issues impacting the service line.
• Enhance relations with medical staff and other health team members; manage issues and conflicts affecting patient care, customer satisfaction, or ethical/legal concerns.
• Mentor staff in conflict resolution, problem-solving, and customer relations.

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing, Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent).
• Current licensure to practice in the applicable clinical field in the state of Michigan (preferred, if applicable).
• Five or more years of progressively responsible management experience with demonstrated leadership, human relations, and communication skills.
• Experience in relevant service line clinical programs.
• Experience in financial analysis of revenue-generating clinical departments, including growth strategy development and profitability analysis.
