About the role
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Administrative Coordinator, UNLV Student Wellness, Disability Resource Center [R0151836].
Responsibilities
- Coordinate complex administrative, operational, and service-delivery functions that support equitable access for students with disabilities at UNLV.
- Integrate accommodation coordination, student worker logistics, office operations, budgeting, and assistive technology support to ensure continuous, high-quality Disability Resource Center services.
- Manage multiple interdependent workflows, collaborating with the Student Wellness Administrative Coordinator to facilitate hiring of student workers and temporary employees.
- Ensure compliance with NSHE and UNLV policies and procedures as well as FERPA and ADA standards regarding student and staff-focused policies and procedures.
- Directly manage the Disability Resource Center’s furniture placement and classroom relocation responsibilities to meet the needs of students with varying disabilities.
- Aid the director and associate director with the compilation, organization, editing, and production of annual reports, evaluations, grant reports, research projects, presentations, and other tasks.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for internal and external constituents on matters pertaining to Disability Resource Center operations, initiatives, and programs/services.
- Coordinate with students, parents, faculty, staff, university leaders, NSHE staff, and other community partners.
- Manage highly confidential and sensitive information with utmost care, possessing significant knowledge of and experience with state and federal laws, including FERPA, ADA, and 504.
- Communicate effectively, solve complex and time-sensitive problems, organize, plan, prepare, coordinate, implement, and follow through on multifaceted assignments in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and minimal oversight.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, high emotional intelligence, and respect for diversity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- One year of work experience.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational judgment and regulatory awareness.
- Ability to manage multiple interdependent workflows.
- Knowledge of and experience with state and federal laws, including FERPA, ADA, and 504.
- Basic skills and knowledge related to de-escalation and assisting students who may present as feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
