About This Position
The overall function of this position is to serve as a Stockroom Clerk in a District-wide Stockroom in District 61/Unit 001/Accounting Section. This position is located at the Department of Transportation and Development and reports directly to the Administrative Program Manager 2.
Job Duties
- Process purchases within delegated authority, ensuring compliance with state purchasing laws, bid requirements, and procurement procedures.
- Create and manage purchase requisitions, shopping carts, stock transfer reservations, and inventory transactions using LaGOV, SAP (ECC), and related modules (e.g., MIGO, MB51, MB22, ME52N).
- Order inventory from the central warehouse, coordinate deliveries, receive shipments, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Organize and maintain the stockroom, including unloading deliveries, storing materials, and ensuring accountability for all inventory.
- Maintain inventory levels by issuing stock, recording transactions, performing weekly/monthly inventory counts, and preparing reports for annual audits.
- Research product specifications, verify item details (size, quantity, color, dimensions), and ensure accurate ordering and delivery locations.
- Research state contracts, obtain vendor quotes, communicate with suppliers, track orders, verify invoices, and maintain vendor records.
- Notify departments when ordered materials are available and reconcile purchase orders by verifying invoices and closing requisitions after payment.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts when required, and support loading, unloading, and distribution of supplies.
- Provide additional operational support as needed, including emergency or disaster response activities and other assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications
- Three years of experience in administrative services.
- Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university is credited as six months of experience.
