About the role

This full-time, on-site position serves as the front-line person for the Division of Continuing Studies and assists with communication flowing in and out of the division, facilitating non-credit offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the online department with providing support to online instructors and assists with the online regulatory body NC-SARA.
  • Handles support and routing for DCS: calls, emails, and visitors as the front-line for Training Outreach (TO), Online, Small Business Development Center (SBDC), and Graduate Studies.
  • Manages communications with instructors and students for TO, LTL, and Online.
  • Leads TA hiring requests and processing, and faculty contract assembly and signing.
  • Acts as backup for Graduate, Online, and Training Outreach department emails and calls.
  • Supports other roles during heavy workload periods.
  • Coordinates events and space within DCS, including classroom and conference room reservations for all DCS events and TO courses, and room setup as needed.
  • Performs graduate administrative tasks such as fee satisfactions.
  • Processes payments for TO classes and performs bi-weekly balancing with the business office.
  • Schedules online courses and procures materials for TO courses, assisting with operations and implementation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of office experience.
  • Skills in Banner or appropriate Student Information System (SIS).
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database maintenance, and survey software.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, creative, and cooperative team environment; effective interpersonal, oral/written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn new software quickly and support stakeholders with its use.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a university environment.

Pay

$18.23 per hour.
