About the role

The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The centers provide campus-based direct services and supports at 13 centers located throughout the state.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates grocery requirements based on current population and recipe menu requirements.
  • Responsible for inventorying stock on hand at the end of each week/month or as needed.
  • Pulls, receives and stores groceries/supplies in an appropriate manner, ensuring that each item is properly labeled and dated.
  • Breaks down produce/milk by 7 cycle day (Saturday through Friday) and double-checks for accuracy.
  • Maintains Control Room and Cooler in sanitary condition.
  • Prepares weekly supplemental delivery to on-site locations.
  • Manages inventory of tracking and organizing stock levels, parts, and supplies.
  • Completes accurate record-keeping and forecasting to avoid overstock and understock situations.
  • Completes all job tasks assigned within scheduled working hours and performs other duties regularly.
  • Provides reliable and consistent coverage in area of responsibility.
  • Interacts with individuals residing on campus in an emotionally supportive and therapeutic manner to provide an environment of caring, dignity, and respect.
  • Works harmoniously with fellow employees, supervisors, family and friends of persons served, and the public to create an environment of caring, dignity, and respect.
  • Calculates and places orders for produce, bread, milk, and grocery supplies; submits orders to the Administrative Assistant.
  • Assists in unloading food trucks in the warehouse and checks invoices for accuracy; ensures damaged products are returned.
  • Weighs ingredients for recipes and prepares them on carts for Central Kitchen Cooks.
  • Fills orders from units and cottages weekly according to their needs.
  • Takes weekly and monthly inventory.
  • Rotates stock as new stock comes in using the FIFO method.
  • Follows proper dress code for food service and maintains a sanitary work area at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned, including disaster response, recovery, or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.
  • May be required to work shift hour changes, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited High School or GED equivalent.
  • ServSafe certification is required.
  • Must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aide, Medication Aide, and Employee Misconduct and HHS List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • Males between the ages of 18 – 25 must be registered with the Selective Service.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment at a state-operated facility.
  • Must be willing to work weekends and holidays.
  • Flexibility in work hours may be required; position may require overtime and/or extended hours.
  • All State Supported Living Center employees are subject to random drug testing.

Skills

  • Inventory management experience, including First In First Out (FIFO) and accountability.
  • Food service experience.
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • Experience working with large groups of people in a professional and proficient manner.
  • Prior knowledge of working in a storeroom or warehouse.
  • Acceptable attendance record.
  • Computer experience (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently and organize/prioritize work.
  • Leadership and group process skills.
  • Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to enter data effectively and efficiently.
  • Professional conduct.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.

Pay

Salary Range: $2,606.00 - $3,404.91 per month

Schedule

  • Full-time, regular position.
  • Day shift.
  • Not eligible for telework.
  • Travel: Up to 5%.
