About the Role
JLRNA is hiring an Administrative Assistant / Porter to support the Technical Center in delivering world-class service. Supplier personnel are expected to perform in line with this vision.
Responsibilities
- Comply with health and safety standards and maintain a safe work environment in the Technical Center.
- Maintain shop cleanliness and follow published 5S standards.
- Maintain professional relationships with JLRNA employees and supplier personnel.
- Maintain and use equipment in the Technical Center to operational standards.
- Take reasonable precautions to protect company vehicles.
- Ensure training requirements, as outlined by JLRNA, are completed successfully on time.
- Maintain JLRNA’s Key Track System.
- Coordinate the collection of disposable items (e.g., tires, oil, and scrap metal).
- Represent the technical center brand positively, maintaining respectful and helpful communication at all times.
- Record vehicle movements accurately in internal systems or logs.
- Manage parking lot layout to maintain a clean, safe, and organized inventory, ensuring vehicles are staged appropriately.
- Remove trash, debris, and report any facility or safety hazards.
- Assist with vehicle movement, quick detail jobs, and logistics.
- Perform vehicle inspections on all required vehicles within 24 hours of arrival.
- Assist with administrative duties, including:
- Repair Order creation and documentation.
- Assisting Technicians and Shop Manager with locating and moving vehicles.
- Vehicle test drives, refueling, or recharging.
- Contacting internal JLR clients for vehicle repairs and scheduling.
- Assisting with Tech Center repair scheduling and communication with JLR clients regarding vehicle updates.
- Cross-training on parts lookup, warranty administration, and vehicle dispatching.
- For Outbound Units:
- Coordinate transportation of vehicles from JLRNA’s Technical Center to transport carriers as per the rework schedule.
- Sign out keys from the Key Track System and locate assigned units.
- Perform physical evaluations to assess visible damage (e.g., dents, cracked windshield, scratches).
- Conduct short test drives to identify faults, service codes, or drivability issues (e.g., check engine light, vibrations, poor braking).
- Remove DTM plates and document their removal.
- Stage vehicles in the designated collection zone.
- Update spreadsheets with unit and carrier information.
- For Inbound Units:
- Schedule delivery with transport carriers.
- Perform physical vehicle evaluations.
- Collect all keys for entry into the Key Track System.
- Conduct short test drives to identify faults, service codes, or drivability issues.
- Park delivered units.
- Interact with customers, including business personnel and transport companies, to provide exceptional experiences.
- Assist in vehicle pick-up and exchanges with JLRNA employees, including scheduling and preparing vehicles (cleanliness, fuel, defect-free).
- Receive and dispatch vehicles to and from transporters.
- Complete transportation paperwork and ensure all damages are noted on the delivery receipt while the carrier is present.
- Secure vehicles and lock all keys in the Key Track System.
Requirements
- College degree preferred but not required.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is strongly preferred.
Pay
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
